SCOFIELD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Where every student realizes their God-given potential
About Our School
It is the vision of Scofield Christian School to have every student realize his or her God-given potential while living a Christ-centered life.
Located in the popular Dallas neighborhood of Lake Highlands, Scofield Christian School has successfully provided children from across the Dallas Metroplex with a challenging academic education in a Christ-centered environment for 60 years. We have continually been named one of the best private Christian schools in Dallas because we equip students as early as age three through sixth grade to be academically prepared and Biblically literate, empowering them to serve God in today’s changing society.
Our Mission
Scofield Christian School partners with families to provide children with an academically challenging education that is well-balanced, comprehensive, and integrated with Biblical truths within a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.
Strategic Plan
The Scofield Christian Schoool Board and school leaders conduct a comprehensive strategic planning process. Such a process ensures that we remain true to our mission and foundations while still being mindful about the future of the school and identifying opportunities for improvement, growth, and innovation. The Strategic Plan is both an ambitious and achievable plan for the school’s future.
Our History
Scofield Christian School began as a ministry of Scofield Memorial Church. (The church is now known as Eastside Community Church and retains its church affiliation.) Dr. Harlin J. Roper, the third pastor of Scofield, founded the Scofield Christian Day School in 1961. It was the first preschool sponsored by an independent evangelical church in the Dallas area. The school was formed to provide children with thorough academic training within a truly Christian atmosphere. Although the school started with preschool, it expanded to second grade by 1975 and to sixth grade by 1979.
Over the years, Scofield Christian School has been blessed with many strong instructional leaders. The first principal was Mrs. Gladys Phillips, who served from 1961 - 1970. Our current Head of School, Dr. Traci Tucker, joined Scofield in July 2019.
With 30 years of experience in Christian education, Dr. Tucker believes that each child is unique and partners with parents to develop their child's intellect, character, and spiritual gifts to serve Jesus with their whole heart.
