Kindergarten
In Kindergarten, children become independent and creative thinkers actively seeking knowledge. Our kindergarten program promotes exploring emerging skills and interests, builds problem-solving skills, teaches students to appreciate reading, refines oral expression, and teaches cooperation. We combine research-based teaching methods and materials while emphasizing Christian values.
Our enriched curriculum in our Kindergarten program includes PE, Art, Music, Library, and Spanish taught by our specials teachers. Our classrooms are filled with math manipulatives, play areas that promote imagination, quiet corners, and book-filled cozy reading spaces. Each child in Kindergarten is issued a non-shared iPad device for advanced applications and learning in the classroom.
Kindergarten at Scofield is full of opportunities to discover and learn outside of the classroom. The students visit the Dallas Arboretum and Dallas World Aquarium as field trips to enhance their learning of the life God has created.
They also enjoy entertaining their family at the Veterans Day Chapel, Christmas Program, and Spring Musical with their sweet singing voices. Kindergarteners participate in Reading Buddies, where they are paired with an older student for monthly reading activities.
Kindergarten at Scofield is FUN! The students enjoy celebrating the 100 Days of School and Western Day.
Learning is a partnership between the school and the family. We encourage parents to be active participants in their child's experience at Scofield Christian School.
