At Scofield Christian School, we strive to provide an education that shapes both academic skills and personal character. Beyond core subjects like Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Bible, our co-curricular ‘Specials’ classes inspire students to grow in creativity, physical well-being, and cultural understanding. Our Specials include Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, Technology, and Library, each one chosen to broaden your child’s learning experience and encourage them to explore new areas of interest.
Students in PK3 through Transitional Kindergarten participate in Music and Physical Education, giving them a fun, engaging start to learning through movement and sound. From Kindergarten onward, students enjoy the full range of Specials, helping them build a diverse set of skills and passions
The purpose of the art curriculum at Scofield is to help students develop and use their creativity and God-given abilities for His glory and honor. Through exposure to various media, styles, and art experiences, students will gain a basic understanding of art as a whole and how it relates to their world. The students explore many mediums and techniques and learn art history as they master the concept of design elements. Through art, students appreciate others’ self-expression as they realize that God has gifted individuals in varying ways. The curriculum helps students become aware of how individual expression can reflect inner thoughts, feelings, and abilities.
The students have the opportunity to enter their works into the ASCI art competition each year. We hope you enjoy the images of some of our art!
All Scofield students attend weekly Music classes as part of their Specials rotation. The program is designed to provide our students with musical experiences that sequentially foster knowledge and skills from one grade level to the next. These developmental musical experiences help each student perceive music as a vehicle to express themselves personally and show praise and adoration of God through music.
The annual performances are Veterans Day/Grandparent’s Day Chapel, the Christmas program, and the spring musical. All Scofield students, even the littlest ones, play a large role in each of our school performances. Family, friends, and Scofield alumni are invited to attend each event.
Scofield students begin P.E. as a special in Pre-K 3 and continue through 6 th grade.
Through a sports-based curriculum, students develop the fine and gross motor skills they can use in individual and team sports throughout their life. We teach students to acknowledge God as the Creator of the human body and to apply Godly attitudes during play, athletic competition, and daily life.
Students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade visit the library once a week to explore and check out books. TK through 1st grade students enjoy our early reader room and listening to a story read by the Librarian as a part of their experience.
Our 2nd – 6th graders participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program to develop deeper reading comprehension and work toward meeting personal goals. Students in 4th – 6th grades are taught how books are cataloged and how to conduct research in coordination with their classroom teachers and curriculum.
Spanish is taught as a special class from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Students immerse themselves in the Spanish language through standard linguistic instruction and engaging activities like music, traditional foods, art, and interactive games. These experiences help them explore and appreciate the rich diversity of cultures in Spanish-speaking countries.
Our Technology Program at Scofield Christian School equips students with digital skills through carefully integrated, age-appropriate tools. From Pre-K to 6th grade, students gain experience with iPads and Chromebooks, building foundational technology and typing skills and developing confidence in using digital resources to support their learning journey.
Educational Focus: All devices are used exclusively for learning and subject-specific programs.
